On Saturday, March 23, 2024, the resort hosted a long-planned private event: the privatization
of the resort by the Social and Economic Committee of the Safran HE group (Bordes, 64)!
Following a successful first edition in 2022, when the resort opened exceptionally for
850 guests of the group, Gavarnie-Gèdre and Safran decided to repeat the event at the end of
season, on a larger scale!
- Lots of entertainment:
as many people as possible. And it wasn't just for skiers! As well as hitting the slopes,
guests had the chance to enjoy a day punctuated by entertainment coordinated by
the resort especially for the occasion! Sleigh dogs and carriage rides, shooting with
laser rifles, toboggan and buoy descents, bouncy castle, concert by high-Pyrenean group
Feu d'Camp, groomer rides, etc...
- A 2nd edition that opens perspectives for years to come:
people and challenges that motivates both parties", says Coralie Sanchez, director of
sales and customer relations for the Gavarnie-Gèdre ski resort.
On this Saturday, March 23, optimal conditions enabled this major project to go ahead,
after a mixed season! the resort was able to welcome almost 1150 guests (employees and their families)
from the group, who had the privilege of spending an outstanding day in this white paradise.
"After a first experience in 2022 for the ASCT's 60th anniversary, the commitment and
availability of the Gavarnie-Gèdre resort staff was exemplary. The enthusiastic response
from employees prompted me to repeat the experience with over 1,150 people. It was an exceptional
day in terms of weather, availability of resort staff and
snow coverage", says Sébastien Labiste, Vice-President of the Association Sportive et Culturelle de
Turbomeca (ASCT).
- A well-orchestrated organization, a challenge met for the resort!
The catering staff organized weeks in advance to provide a giant buffet for
everyone, and a marquee was set up for the occasion. The mobilization of all departments ensured
the smooth running of the day, thanks also to volunteers from the ASCT and the CSE of
Safran.
For the Gavarnie-Gèdre resort, coordinating an event of this scale in its entirety,
, is quite a feat (and quite unknown!). It's at times like these that the strength and skills of the
teams shine through, and the links between the resort and the Safran group are strengthened!
At the end of the day, the 18 buses headed back to Béarn. All the ingredients were present for
a memorable day!
